1. Speech Development Delay

By the end of three or four months, if a child doesn’t respond to noise and doesn’t even babble, he is lacking either speech recognition or may have some other hearing problem.

According to the set child development parameters, a child should speak a few easy words until the end of one year.

2. Delayed Vision

At the time of birth and till the few of birth, a child generally has blurry vision. The reason behind it is that the child tries to coordinate sight in both the eyes. But after six months, the vision should be clear enough. By the end of two months, a child is expected to see the moving objects or hands.

If it doesn’t happen, there may be refractive errors, lazy eyes, infantile cataracts, strabismus or such other problems. Delay in vision is a serious problem, but there is the availability of treatment too. It is better to visit a doctor and get the appropriate solution for late vision.

3. Delay In Motor Skills

Motor skills include crawling, walking, and such other things. Premature children may lack muscle building while weak children may lack energy levels to perform such tasks on time. Delay in such skills is quite common.

However, there is nothing to worry about delay in motor skills. But you should meet a doctor if your child doesn’t hold any object or your piece of cloth or doesn’t able to control head by the end of four months.

4. Delayed Cognitive Skills

The cognitive skills include brain development, thinking power, and grasping memory patterns. Negligence and genetic defects are a prominent cause for delay in building such skills. However, you may not recognize such delay, but it impacts the entire growth cycle of your child.

So, you should approach behavioral therapy or educational intervention for developing a specific cognitive skill.

5. Belated Social Development

If your child is facing problem in interaction, it is known as social development. By the end of half a year, if your child doesn’t respond to new faces, you should visit a doctor. In most of the cases, such problems arise at the time of schooling. Less-responsive children should be taken to behavioral and skill oriented therapy.
