The effects that daycare has on child success in grad school has a mixed result. From the child’s birth through the various childcare settings, whether it is at home with the parents, relatives or at a daycare centre, to the elementary school. You can often see that those children who have spent time in high-quality daycare centres have a better vocabulary by their fifth grade. Their vocabulary is better than those who have not sent their time in these high-quality daycare centres. Studies have also shown that these daycare charges have more behaviour problems. One can consider the child’s gender, family income and the quality of the daycare centres.
Some of the advantages and disadvantages are as follows:
Advantages Of Day Care:
Those who support quality daycare are of the opinion that as the children are learning early learning and socialization by spending time with their friends. This is how early childhood educators are trained. Moreover, it is plausible as to how the quality daycare centres prepare their children for elementary school. People teach children about structure and routine from a very young age and are responsible for doing their independent tasks.
Early educators also make lesson plans for children. This helps the children to learn while they play. In this way, they start to learn an early age. Most of the quality daycare centres teach their children ABCs, simple maths, easy learning and writing. These daycare centres also teach children basic hygiene skills. This not only helps the children to be engrossed in the daycare centres but also they get to learn many things.
Disadvantages Of Centres:
The main disadvantage of the daycare centre is that children tend to get sick frequently then they get when they are at home with a single caregiver. Even the best daycare centres are kept the cleanest there will still be germs. It is obvious that children will get sicker then here than when they are home. This will lead to more frequent visiting to the doctor, more medical bills and your child will be seen sick most of the time.
The non-supporters of daycare centres say that pre-school children tend to misbehave as they learn these bad habits by watching other kids.
Due to the busy schedule of the daycare centres where children are always involved in some activity or the other creates a stressful environment for the children.
Studies have shown that children who attend daycare centres have the same outcome as those who do not attend the daycare centres and are at home. The child’s development depends majorly on the family whether they attend the daycare centres or not. The interaction with the parents’ for the child is very important.
The main goal of the daycare centre is to provide the child with overall safety and the needs of the child.
